Waltham MA, 2^nd July, 2012; Global Premier Soccer PDL franchises, The GPS Portland Phoenix and Ocean City Nor’easters find themselves top of their respective league divisions after this weekends round of games.

GPS Portland Phoenix, led by Head Coach and Maine Premier Soccer General Manager Paul Baber, have registered a 8-3-1 record and currently sit two points clear in the Northeast Division of the PDL’s Eastern Conference.

“We find ourselves in a great position, as we navigate this crucial period in our season,” said Baber.  “The month of June saw us pick up some important results, including two crucial victories in Massachusetts, which could be pivotal as we strive towards the goal of earning a playoff berth.”

The Ocean City Nor’easters, who are affiliated with the Jersey Premier Soccer franchise are currently on a six-game winning streak and sit four points clear of the second placed team. Led by Head Coach Tim Oswald, the Nor’easters find themselves in a rich vein of form.

After the recent victory over the Bermuda Hogges, Coach Oswaladed reflected on the game “It was great to get off to a good start today against a quality but tired Bermuda team who are at the end of their long road trip. The effort from our guys was great and the goals we scored were of excellent quality.” He continued “It is a great feeling to be number two in the whole Eastern conference but we are still hungry for more”.
