Coaching Position:
You will be focused on coaching and will have no office/admin responsibilities other than attendance at staff meetings and professional development/education meetings and any admin needed to support your coaching role such as communication with players, parent managers, town coaches etc.
You will also be an integral part of the Coaching staff instructing players of all ages and abilities from 5 year olds to 17 year olds. During the period you are with the organization you have to be able to adapt your coaching style to work with various players from the recreational level to the Elite players.
You may also have day time coaching responsibilities working with pre-K, schools or adults. Staff on “Coaching only” contracts may also be assigned marketing appearances - appearances at Youth Soccer events such as tournaments to promote your organization.
Spring/Fall Clinic seasons:
Staff will coach every weekday for 1.5 to 3 hours. You will also coach weekends during the spring and fall clinics seasons for 2+ hours each day.
Summer Camp season:
During the summer months you will be scheduled either on day or residential camps, you will be expected to keep up to date with your office duties.
Note: Most duties will be on a weekly schedule, at all other times you will be on an ‘on-call system’
Sports/Business Management:
You will be assigned a Department based on your resume and the feedback from your interview. Within one month of your arrival, you will be contacted by your specific organization with more details. You will be part of a young and dynamic company and will be expected to be productive in a fast-paced office environment.
You will also be an integral part of the Coaching staff instructing players of all ages and abilities from 3 year olds to 17 year olds. During the period you are with the organization you have to be able to adapt your coaching style to work with various players from the recreational level to the Elite players.
The Sports Management staff member will be placed in a Department within the organization. This will either be, Operations, Sales and Staff Recruitment, Graphic Design, Academy Program, Residential Camps, Leagues and Tournaments, Marketing and Communications, School of Excellence, Premier Teams, Media and Web, Technical Development, Sports Performance/Science, Technical and Human Resources.
Spring/Fall Clinic seasons:
During the spring and fall clinic seasons, staff will be expected to be in the office performing their administrative role from 9am – 3pm, and then coach from 4pm to 7pm. You will also coach all weekends of the spring and fall clinics seasons.
Summer Camp season:
During the summer months you will be scheduled either on day or residential camps, you will be expected to keep up to date with your office duties.

Placement Position:
GPS recruits placement students in Coaching, Sports Management, Business Management, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Physical Education, Graphic Design, Video Analysis, Event Management and Sports Science although placement students can be successful at MPS from other educational disciplines. Placement students should also have a background and passion for soccer and have at least their introductory coaching license.

Often, students will have the opportunity to work within multiple Departments during their placement. Students will also be expected to coach regularly, working with players aged 3-14. The student will be provided with consistent professional development opportunities both within their Department and as a coach.
Placement programs run from 4-12 months. Students who impress in their time in the US will have the opportunity to return upon graduation for a full time position. All placements are paid positions and compensation includes a $500 contribution towards the flight to the US, a weekly stipend, housing, transport and a coaching equipment package.
Placement students need to be prepared for an intense schedule. There can be long hours and students should come expecting to work hard. Students hoping to focus on social activities should not accept this placement program.
