Former MPS Premier Director Philip Mitchell will return to Global Premier Soccer, taking up the role of Director of Recruiting and International Projects.

Phil, who previously spent 2 years as Premier Team Director in Massachusetts, is now based in the Ireland and will be overseeing the recruitment of new coaches coming from the UK and Ireland. Having previously made the move from Northern Ireland to the US, Phil knows the qualities and characteristics required of a GPS coach. 

‘We are privileged to have Philip Mitchell working with the club again,’ said GPS General Manager Joe Bradley. ‘Phil’s previous experience, combined with his soccer and business acumen, which is second to none, will provide GPS with the leadership necessary to continue to acquire high quality staff.’

“Naturally, this is an exciting position, in that it allows me to continue my special relationship with Global Premier Soccer,’ explained Phil. ‘The role goes beyond the obvious of recruiting new talent. It is a bridge to make sure that those who are selected have a clear understanding of expectations and clean clear lines of communication with senior staff at HQ.’

Having been involved in soccer as a player, coach and director for 15 years, and as a Sports Marketing and Sales Manager, Phil is determined to find the best coaches who believe in the GPS philosophy.’ Phil continued, ‘I have a wide platform of contacts that will complement the existing recruiting channels and I am confident I will unearth new talent who will impact the player development programs at GPS.’

Previously, Mitchell worked for Umbro as Sales Executive for Northern Ireland and Scotland. During his 15 years with Umbro, Mitchell worked with high profile clubs including Rangers, Hearts and Linfield.

are excited to announce a partnership that has been established to enhance the player development opportunities for players in Carolina and mutually benefit the programs and goals of both organizations.

Global Premier Soccer (GPS) was founded in 2001 with a mission to establish a new and unique player development model in the US.

Global Premier Soccer owns and operates soccer properties in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Florida, Rhode Island, Vermont, Carolina and New Jersey and is now one of the largest soccer organizations in the United States providing player development programming to over 100,000 players.

Commencing in June 2013, CPS will bring the CPS School of Excellence program to North Carolina under the Moniker of The CPS Dynamo. The program was designed to supplement, as opposed to replacing, recreational soccer programs.  “The Carolina Dynamo already has a comprehensive Camp program geared towards players who want to improve their play in a fun and developmental environment. Camps will by CPS and Dynamo staff, and will feature a unique blend of skill development, player challenges and game play. Waltham, February 19^th 2013: GPS would like to congratulate both the U12 and U16 Girls who competed in the US Youth Futsal National Championships this past weekend. The U16 Girls were crowned champions, with the U12 Girls unlucky to suffer defeat in the final.
